Jerry Basierbe is a native of southeastern Michigan and has resided in Livonia, Michigan for most of his life. His fascination with photography began as a child the first time he saw an image magically appear on a sheet of photographic paper in his uncle’s home darkroom.

Jerry began taking photography classes in junior high school and continued taking classes through high school and into college. During this time Jerry began to discover and was inspired by the photography of Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and many other great photographers.

Several years ago Jerry decided to pursue photography at a greater level. He has taken several workshops with such notable photographers as Michigan photographer Howard Bond and former Ansel Adams assistant John Sexton.

Jerry’s photographs are primarily of landscape, nature, and architecture. The majority of his photographs are from his home state of Michigan. Jerry uses several camera formats such as 35mm, 6x6 medium format, and 4x5 large format. All of Jerry’s photography is done using film. He prints on silver gelatin paper using traditional wet darkroom methods.

All prints are selenium toned and archivally finished to current standards. Most prints are 8x8 inches, several are slightly larger. All prints are mounted on 16x20 4-ply bright white museum board and overmatted with a floating border. Each print is signed and numbered in editions of 50 each by the photographer.
